Hedge Fund Manager MKP Capital Management Selects Interface Software's InterAction® for CRM
Focus on Relationship Intelligence, platform flexibility and reporting were key to decision
OAK BROOK (IL) 22 June, 2004: Interface Software announced today that New York-based MKP Capital Management (MKP), an investment advisor specializing in fixed income alternative investment products, has selected InterAction as the firm's strategic CRM solution. MKP will deploy InterAction as the central repository for the firm's Relationship Intelligence to derive a 360-degree view of all client and prospect relationships, history and activities.

MKP initiated its search for a new CRM solution when its predecessor database was no longer able to keep up with the firm's evolving client support needs. "It became difficult to get a 360-degree snapshot of our clients' involvement with the firm," said Simon. "For instance, to field a client request, we have to open up multiple applications and documents, making it difficult to provide the high level of service our clients expect."
MKP conducted a software search and narrowed down the field to three potential solutions, which included InterAction. The selection committee focused on three main criteria in making their choice. First, the solution would need to accommodate the business processes MKP had already developed. "We wanted to continue being able do things the way we have in the past, therefore flexibility in tailoring the CRM solution to our organization was critical," commented Simon.
Second, MKP needed a solution that could provide a comprehensive picture of the firm's clients and prospects from many different angles, as well as the complex relationship networks surrounding those contacts. "What's most important is to keep track of investors, understand where they fit, and how they're connected to us and to our products," said Simon. "From a marketing perspective, an investor might express interest in a number of our products and we need to be able to manage each business opportunity separately."
Finally, MKP needed a system that would allow the firm to produce custom reports that are easy to create and update. "Today most reporting is manual, which is time and labor intensive," said Simon.
