Interface Software Customer, Numerica Group, Featured in New Book on Professional Services Marketing Strategy
Case Study Examines Numerica Group's use of CRM Technology to expand business and grow revenues
OAK BROOK (IL), 20 October, 2004: Interface Software announced today the inclusion of its customer, Numerica Group, in a groundbreaking new book, "Marketplace Masters: How Professional Service Firms Compete to Win." The book features a case study on the London-based business services provider's use of Interface Software's InterAction CRM solution to support the firm's data mining strategy, which has contributed to the firm's growth and revenue expansion.
"The conservative professional services sector has only recently begun to embrace formal sales and marketing strategies," commented Suzanne Lowe, President of Expertise Marketing and author of the book. "I wrote this book to shed some light on winning marketplace strategies, and the leading-edge firms that are implementing them."
Among the organizations highlighted in her book, Lowe offers an in-depth profile of Numerica Group and its strategy to use a powerful IT infrastructure to help it build a single, national business through acquisition and organic growth. As part of this strategy Numerica Group acquires complementary business services organizations with which it has strong synergies and similar cultures. Critical to this strategy is the ability of its different offices and business units to be able to share client and relationship data.
"Our business model is premised upon each business unit being able to leverage the resources of the collective whole," explained Ross Mullenger, Numerica's chief technology officer, in an interview for Lowe's book. "This is why we had to have the IT infrastructure that makes this business model possible."
At the hub of its IT strategy, InterAction supports three critical areas of Numerica's business - sales and new business opportunities, cross-selling and rapid staff integration. "We see InterAction as the equalizing infrastructure capable of providing immediate visibility into people, companies, relationships, experience and expertise," added Mullenger.
Numerica Group's strategy is paying off. As Lowe points out in her book, since the publicly traded firm implemented its IT strategy, Numerica Group has outperformed the market and is operating profitably despite its high acquisition expenditures. "Our rate of growth couldn't have been achieved without our IT infrastructure," concluded Douglas Shanks, Numerica Group's sales director.
"Marketplace Masters does an excellent job highlighting the unique challenges and opportunities that professional services organizations face in today's competitive environment," said Barry Solomon, Interface Software's executive vice president. "Lowe's Numerica Group case study provides a great illustration of professional service firm success that can result from a well-focused business strategy supported by the right technology."
