Mills & Reeve Select InterAction® for CRM

Product's market leadership, lawyer-friendly functionality and built-in data quality tools were critical factors in decision

OAK BROOK (IL) & LONDON (UK), 20 December, 2004. Interface Software announced today that the 290-lawyer, UK-based firm of Mills & Reeve has selected InterAction as the firm's new CRM solution. Mills & Reeve will integrate InterAction with Microsoft Outlook, Firmware practice management system and Desktop letter generation system to create a central repository of Relationship Intelligence for lawyers, marketing, business development teams and administrative users.

"We looked at the competing products and spoke to many other firms about what they were using, and most have chosen InterAction," said Julie Murphy, marketing director at Mills & Reeve. Prior to implementing InterAction client data was stored in multiple silos including lawyers' Outlook contact managers, spreadsheets, marketing databases and other repositories. The lack of a centralised Relationship Intelligence resource often led to inefficiencies and embarrassing mishaps. "We didn't have an effective means of pulling together all our client information," recalled Murphy. "If we were going out to pitch to a new organisation on the firm's services, it was difficult to identify who in the firm had a relationship with the prospective client. It was an incredibly time consuming task to keep our scattered lists up to date to avoid the embarrassing situation of firm mailings being sent to clients using outdated contact information."

A number of InterAction features were particularly decisive for Mills & Reeve as they underwent the evaluation process. Lawyers have found particularly compelling the system's My Watch List™ feature, which automatically alerts them when important events relating to contacts they are watching, such as meetings and phone calls, are logged into the system. "Lawyers like being able to receive these alerts without having to do anything more than register their interest," said Murphy. From an administrative standpoint, InterAction's built-in data quality and data change management functionality set the product apart from other CRM solutions. "Every firm knows that data quality is vital, and we had significant challenges maintaining the quality of our client data in the past," said Murphy. "We are determined not to let it deteriorate to previous levels. InterAction's data quality and data change management tools were a huge attraction for us and will play a significant role in our ongoing data quality strategy."
